The Leadership Axis and the Unconscious Need to Be Different
With the Leadership Axis, the Unconscious Need to Be Different arises when there is an unexpressed aspect of yourself wanting to be different and celebrated for being different. But because as a child you didn’t feel safe to be different, you kept this aspect of yourself buried deep in your unconscious. The result is that you never fully understood how to be different and are now driven by your unconscious needs.
Like trying to hold a beach ball under water, your unconscious needs float to the surface at inopportune times. It’s still within you… no matter how hard you try to hold the beach ball down, it bounces up and, at times, hits you in the face. It simply never works to try to hide your authentic self!
Specifically, the Unconscious Need to Be Different looks and feels like:
- “I’m different.”
- “You don’t get me.”
- “I’ll never fit in.”
When this happens, we find ourselves during our coaching work having anger and all kinds of emotions erupt. We think it’s our client or something outside of ourselves causing the upset… when it’s actually a deep unconscious need that we need to heal and transform.
Healing the Unconscious Need to Be Different
The secret to healing your Unconscious Needs is to love and acknowledge the unexpressed aspects of yourself. For the Leadership Axis and the Unconscious Need to BE Different, it’s loving and acknowledging what makes you different and using your differences to serve your Divine Life Purpose.
When you understand how to create this place of Self-love, you will no longer need to use your differences as a divisive weapon. Instead, you can love and accept each person that you are coaching wherever they are. For the conflict was never a conflict with other people, but rather a conflict within yourself. This is what I call “Clear the Hidden Mirror.” You clear your own unconscious needs and no longer take what another does personally… because you finally understand that the root of your emotional upset was always between you and you. This is true for everyone!
Once the Hidden Mirror is cleared, you will have a clear focus upon your Divine Life Purpose and serving your tribe of Ideal Clients as only you can! This is the pull of client attraction, rather than experience the resistance of people who are never going to agree with you no matter how hard you try. You find you are free and living your Human Design Emotional Theme.
